This whole month, and the next few weeks feel very time poor – when I look at the calendar I feel a bit overwhelmed by all the things that need doing, arranging etc. One way I’m trying to embrace Simplify September is to enjoy small pockets of ‘down time’ when they appear. I now have a book downstairs and once dinner is in the oven for the kids (dinner one!) that gives me 20 minutes to either sit and just listen to the kids play or hear about their day… or maybe read, or grab a cuppa or do something for myself. Sometimes it’s just preparing for later so give me more time in the evening, I also have got better at having a few ‘nice’ things in my bag for when the kids don’t need my complete attention – like a pad and pen to write notes, or a sweetie!
