I came across this interesting competition for the Summer, aimed at challenging the selfie culture in children and teens it’s being run by Sharp Shots Photo Club, partnered with The Royal Photographic Society (so it’s a good one!). ‘The Alternative Selfie’ asks people aged 7-15 to capture a series of images that tell the story of who they are, a step up from just a selfie to a more rounded expression of ‘self’.
The competition is open now and entries have to be made before the 31st August. Judges are looking for originality, creativity and a cohesive ‘story’. The winner will get a super cool Nikon camera worth £129 (age 7-11) or £539 (age 12-15). There is also the opportunity to be included in the online gallery and runners up will receive a Royal Photographic Society goodie bag.
I think it sounds really interesting and is plastic free and very Summery so I’m happy to include it here x
